One of Lakewood's premier recreation centers, Whitlock is especially great for basketball. Along with their other great amenities (pool, rock climbing wall, squash courts and weight room) Whitlock has three full basketball courts and it's fairly easy to get a good pick-up game going. They do offer tons of other activities that take place on the courts, so be sure to call ahead or check their online schedule before heading down.

With one of the larger indoor water parks in the state, as well as a massive ice arena, the Apex center is also home to a huge gymnasium. If you're looking to play pick-up, the Apex is great because of the large number of people that use the center, however, there is also more than enough room to work on your game by yourself. When it comes to public indoor courts, it doesn't get much better than the Apex Center.
