Top Folk Music Venues In Denver

All of these folk musicians and singers are wildly popular throughout Denver and the United States. The Gothic Theatre in Englewood is not far from downtown Denver. It is one of the top concert venues in the area. With a cool, funky vibe, the theatre is a great place to bring your friends to for a weekend night on the town. Recent headliners here have included Rebirth Brass Band, Break Science, High Five, Swans and more.

Hundreds of artists have passed through the doors of the Lost Lake Lounge, a grungy dive bar on Colfax. Sunday afternoon shows feature BBQ and drinks before the headliner comes on in early evening. Happy hours take place every week day with cheap drinks for everyone. There's even a Wednesday night Bingo game, where you can win tickets to shows!

Larimer Lounge is the classier version of its sister venue, Lost Lake. A small venue located on one of Denver's most famous downtown streets, Larimer Lounge offers a wide variety of music, from rock to alternative, folk to punk. Focusing mainly on local groups, the lounge offers tickets for as little as $5 and the best spots can be found the earlier you arrive. The venue has shown edgy folk groups like Edison, Union Station, and The Last Bison.

Considered on of the best concert venues in Denver, the Soiled Dove is located in a state of the art facility with three levels of tiered seating as well as a dance floor. Appetizers and drinks offered during the show provide even more class. Shows are typically offered 2-3 nights a week. Upcoming folk groups that will play at the Soiled Dove include Wishbone Ash, Peter Bradley Adams, Jacob Collier, and Allen Stone among others. Most of the musicians that play here like to experiment with different genres so you'll get to experience a great mix of music when you visit.

Summit is one of the smaller concert venues in town but books unique musicians and has a great bar staff that will keep you happy all night long. This year, they received a nomination from Westword for best rock club, and last year won best sound system. It took a lot of work the get the music hall into shape at first but it's now a great hang-out spot in LoDo. Check out bands from every genre about 3 nights a week.
