Top Fall Craft Beers In Denver

It's that time of year again, the time of year when everything seems to get crisper. The leaves, the weather, the air and, in Denver especially, the beer. Nicknamed "The Napa Valley of Beer," Denver and its surrounding areas are home to more than 240 microbreweries. We take our beer seriously here, and as a result, we are blessed with an abundance of delicious brews. As with every changing season, there are plenty of new autumn-inspired beers available from breweries throughout the state. Lefthand Brewery begins brewing this special batch in the spring, as it takes a full two months for this lager to reach perfection. This beer greets your tastebuds with a distinct roasted malt flavor symbolic of the fall season, while the noble hops provide a smooth, spicy finish. A biscuity flavor is also present, giving this beer a unique flavor perfect for autumn.

Denver, CO 80205

This addition to the revered Great Divide imperial stout family is one of its finest. The brewmasters decided to cut down the hops a little bit and up the cocoa input in a successful effort to add more flavor. Oaky vanilla is then added, giving the beer the smell and taste of a gourmet chocolate bar, while a hint of cayenne takes the overall flavor up a notch. They know what they are doing over at Great Divide, and this autumn beer is no exception.

Rumpkin- Avery Brewing Company
4910 Nautilus Court
Boulder, CO 80301
(303) 440-4324
www.averybrewing.com

Brewed in aged rum barrels (hence the name Rumpkin), this unique brew combines the traditional autumn flavors of pumpkin and spice, while rum barrels add a hint of molasses and smoky oak. It's an excellent idea that comes together nicely in a bottle or cold glass. Not only does it taste great, it packs a punch; the ABV rests at a steep 15-18 percent.
