There are many popular book clubs meeting all over Denver, so make sure you find the perfect club for you. Never been to a book club before? The Denver Book Club Meetup Group is one of the most established and long-lasting book clubs in Denver. They have been meeting to discuss books since 2007 and have grown to more than 900 members. They select books through a monthly voting system and strive to only pick reads that would be available in a used bookstore or a library. Since they are always alternating between fiction and nonfiction, the Denver Book Club Meetup Group is a great place to join in the literary discussion.

Of course, no discussion of books or bookstores in Colorado would be complete without looking at the Tattered Cover, one of the nation's most historic independent bookstores. As it celebrates it's 40th anniversary, Tattered Cover is proud to have many different book clubs at all locations. The Lodo Book Club presents a sampling of many different books, and they list the next several month's selections on the website. For the June meeting, the group will be selecting the books for the next few months, so be sure to bring your suggestions.

The Denver Science Fiction and Fantasy Book Club is a great group to join for fans of the genre. Meeting since the summer of 1994, this book club has already discussed more than 200 books, and the list keeps growing. Occasionally, they will stray from the Science Fiction or Fantasy genre, but all selections are made by the group. They also strive to ensure that all books are available in the paperback edition, so the cost is reasonable.
