Top Baseball Fields In Denver

With spring here, it's time to start looking for some fun outdoor activities for the whole family. Did you know that you don't have to join a league to play some baseball or softball in Denver? There are lots of great parks with baseball diamonds that are open for public use. You can contact the Parks and Recreation department to reserve fields ahead of time, or you can simply head down and check out one that isn't currently in use. In fact, some of these local fields even have batting cages, gear and nighttime lights to keep the games going late into the evening hours. Here are five of the best spots in town to play baseball with your family.

This large park is a neighborhood favorite in Southeast Denver. There is so much to do and enjoy here, from walking along the Highline Canal to playing on the large playground or just enjoying a bike ride around the spacious park. There also happens to be several baseball diamonds here that are totally open to the public and ready for you to enjoy. Play softball or baseball or take a seat on the many benches to watch your friends and family play. Start up a game or two here and you'll fall in love with this great local park.

Another lovely local park, this spot has a lot for families to enjoy. Bring along your bike and enjoy a ride around the beautiful grounds, or take the kids to the playground and let them run around as they work off all that extra energy. You can bring a net and play some volleyball or bust out the soccer ball and, of course, there is a great baseball diamond here that is the perfect spot to take in a game or three. There's even a wonderful fountain here that you can use to help you cool off after a particularly tough game.

Aurora residents love this great local sports park. It's a 220-acre park with 12 baseball and softball fields to enjoy plus 27 multi-use soccer fields. This massive park is a great place to check out a game or to start one up, and you'll love the beautifully-kept grounds and facilities. There are no gross park-style bathrooms here, as everything is well-maintained year-round. If you want to host a big game or tournament, this is a great place to check out as well, with so many fields, it's one of the hottest baseball spots in town.

Here's another popular local park for teams and baseball fans of all ages. This large mark has three lighted baseball fields as well as seven multi-purpose fields for other sports. If you need, you can even borrow a helmet and baseball bat here, or check out the batting cages where you can get balls sent to you from 30 miles per hour all the way to 85 miles per hour. If you need to practice your swing or you just want to get out on the field to play some ball, this is a fantastic local park to check out.

This is a much smaller park, but if you're in the Wheat Ridge area, you'll want to check out the great ball fields here. There are a couple of different fields and they are all lit at night, so if you want to take up a game of night-time baseball or softball this is the place to do it. It's a clean park that is also rarely busy, so it's a great place to check out or even to drive to, should your local park be too crowded to get in a game. Check out Randall Park in Wheat Ridge and you won't be disappointed.
