What child doesn’t love dinosaurs? Spend some time hiking in Dinosaur Ridge, enjoying the beautiful Colorado summer air while also getting a chance to explore an area that was home to some incredibly significant discoveries. You’ll be able to see actual Stegosaurus bones and tracks left by dinosaurs that roamed the area hundreds of years ago. The 1.5-mile Dinosaur Ridge Trail has hundreds of tracks, a quarry of bones and many interesting geological features. More than 300 of the tracks have been identified in the area and the world’s first Stegosaurus fossil was actually discovered on this spot. You can even visit The Bone Quarry, which is one of the few locations in the world where you can see and touch real dinosaur bones in the rock in which they originally fossilized.
