Q: Welcome to Defend Your Ride Denver! What kind of car is this? What is your car’s main use?

A: A Ford F-250. I bought it brand new with no miles on it. I drive it all around the city and I drive it back and forth to work. I take it up to the mountains.

Q: What’s your favorite day trip in your Ford?

A: I like just driving around the city. We just drove down Colfax. You know, that’s nice.

Q: What’s your favorite place to go in the mountains?

A: I’ve got a couple of places. My father lives up in Steamboat Springs. I like going up there. My mom lives in Montrose and I like going down there. I travel the passes. I travel over Bell Pass and Gore Pass.

Q: Do you have any rules for your truck?

A: I like to keep it clean. It’s a little dirty now. I try to keep the outside clean, inside clean, the wheels shiny. My major rule is, I like to change my oil every 3,000 miles or, with the new oil now, it’s like 7,500 miles. I make sure I do that.

Q: If your truck had a human emotion, what would it be?

A: It’s a happy kind of truck. Joyful!

Q: Where did you buy your truck?

A: We bought it through an auto broker, a personal friend of ours, who went and got it. I’ve always wanted a big truck and my wife says, OK, you can go buy a big truck. We went through a broker instead of me dealing with the car dealership and he did the price.

Q: Did that save you a lot of time?

A: Yes, it did. It did because I didn’t have to deal with the prices, you know.

Q: Did you get it below MSRP?

A: I think a couple thousand dollars below.

Q: Is this your first truck?

A: My first brand new truck without no miles, yes.

Q: What do you think your next vehicle could realistically be?

A: My next vehicle would be a more economical car, maybe a smaller truck. We bought this for a purpose, for my wife and I eventually retiring and putting a trailer on it. That’s why we bought it so big.

Q: Do you feel the pinch of the gas mileage these days?

A: It’s not so bad because I don’t have to go that far to go back and forth to work. I only live 15 minutes away from my job, so I don’t have to really spend that much money.

Q: Before we go, what else do you want us to know about your truck?

A: It’s a good truck. I’ve moved my daughters a couple of times.

Q: So you’re the one they call when they need to move their stuff?

A: Yup! They say, he’s got a big truck he can help us!
