THE DEFENSE
Q: Hi Doug. Welcome to Defend Your Ride Denver! What can you tell us about your car?
A: I have a 2010 Jetta TDI with a manual transmission. I definitely prefer a manual. I love it. I feel like you get a better sense of control with the car even in poor conditions.
Q: Where do you drive your Jetta typically?
A: Right now, I drive it mostly around town. I am involved in technology. I was commuting from Denver to Fort Collins every day. I needed to get a car that was going to be a great highway car and get great gas mileage. That is probably the single most important criteria for me with a car is gas mileage. The TDI is great.
Q: What would you say is the farthest you’ve driven in the Jetta?
A: It’s probably up to the mountains. It does great. It’s nice that it is a manual transmission because going down hills I can really manage my speed without having to be on the brakes. It’s really nice.
Q: Do you have any rules for passengers in the Jetta?
A: No eating. My kids can’t eat in the car. The kids don’t like that rule. In some of our other cars, we’ve had chocolate milk mishaps.
Q: If your Jetta had a human emotion, what would it be?
A: I actually would say because it’s a Volkswagen and it’s German engineering, I think from a personification perspective, probably a little bit stalwart–strong and sturdy.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share with us today about your Jetta?
A: It’s comfortable, reliable. I’ve enjoyed it!
