Q: Welcome to Defend Your Ride Denver. What year, make and model is your truck?
A: I have a 1979 Ford Courier with 53,000 miles on it.
Q: Only 53,000 miles? How is it 33 years old with so few miles on it? Have you had the engine replaced?
A: No, it’s the original engine. The last 5,000 miles I’ve put on in the last six months. It only had 48,000 miles on it when I bought it.
Q: What is the Courier’s main use?
A: Pretty much everything. There’s a pretty good fishing spot about 100 miles west from here. Dollar really loves to go camping and fishing.
Q: How did you get the Courier?
A: I drove down an ally and put a sign on the door of the truck saying, if you want to sell this truck, call me. Five years later, nobody had called, so five years later, I went back again and said, if you want to sell this truck, call me. He called and said, did you leave a note on my truck five years ago? I said, yeah I did. He said, I recognized the writing.
Q: How has the Courier held up for you?
A: I’ve had no problems with it! It has held up well.
