October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is a time set aside to raise awareness and funds to support charities and research organizations around the country and to help those that have been affected by breast cancer. According to the World Cancer Report, in 2008 breast cancer accounted for nearly 13.7 percent of cancer deaths in women. Although better research has brought the number down, it is still a very real and very scary threat to all women around the world. This October, take part in one of the many different events and raise money to help end breast cancer once and for all.
