Cabaret is a live performance style that is still alive and well in Denver. Look closely and you can find plenty of places offering all of the ingredients for a fantastic cabaret experience. From strong drinks to great music, these cabaret options are perfect for an exciting night out on the town. Just be prepared for something a little different, something a little silly and something a little naughty.

You may be fairly familiar with the historic clock tower at the corner of the 16th Street Mall and Arapahoe Street. The iconic tower was built in 1910 and was the first skyscraper in Denver. However, you may not know that the basement of this Denver icon is home to the best cabaret in town – Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret. Yes, Hamburger Mary’s is home to Denver’s only drag burlesque show, “Dreamgirls.” This one-of-a-kind cabaret show hits the stage at Hamburger Mary’s every first, third and fourth Friday at 8 p.m. This is the kind of cabaret experience that both men and women are sure to enjoy.

Bender’s Tavern is always hosting all sorts of live music and other great events. However, one of the best shows offered is Vivienne Vavoom’s School of Burlesque. Students of all walks of life take Vivienne’s course, learning how to choreograph for the burlesque style, how to costume and all the basics of the bump and grind. Then, when the students are ready to fly from the nest, Vivienne takes them on a public recital at Benders Tavern. This is definitely a different kind of graduation ceremony.
