There is a big push to collect Thanksgiving turkeys for Denver’s less fortunate.
Thanksgiving is just a few days away but some may not be able to enjoy a warm meal this holiday.
CenturyLink is jumping in to kickstart the Denver Rescue Mission’s efforts to reach their holiday turkey donation goal.
Wild birds have been flocking to the Denver Tech Center and the turkeys are responsible for ruffling a few feathers.
After being worried they would fall well short of the amount of turkeys donated to give to families in need, the Denver Rescue Mission announced Monday they have surpassed their goal of getting 10,000 turkeys.
The Denver Rescue Mission anticipates it’ll need about 10,000 turkeys by Thanksgiving, which is just over a week away. Right now there are less than 1,000 in the freezers.
