An Arapahoe High School security guard says the deadly school shooting that took place last December could have been prevented.
Five of the state’s largest school districts have investigated more than 400 threats by students this school year and put 40 of them at the highest levels of concern, according to records obtained by The Denver Post.
Students are being allowed back in to Arapahoe High School for brief visits that are providing some comfort following last week’s shooting.
Students who knew the Arapahoe High gunman, 18-year-old Karl Pierson, say it all began with a speech he wrote.
Plans changed for the return to Arapahoe High School as students were not allowed back inside on Monday to get their things. They will be able to return to the school on Thursday and Friday but the school will be closed the remainder of 2013.
