Marijuana use by pregnant or nursing women might seem like a no-brainer of a bad idea. But a proposal in Colorado to step up such warnings was rejected Tuesday because of concern about limited or inconclusive research on the dangers.
The nation’s drug czar said Wednesday the legalization of marijuana in Washington state and Colorado won’t change his office’s mission of fighting the country’s drug problem.
Voters in Colorado and Washington state will decide this fall whether to legalize the drug for recreational use, bringing a new urgency to the issue.
