In the old days, after the snow melted at ski resorts, all that remained was grass, a gondola and the occasional alpine slide.
It’s a niche in the ski industry that not many resorts have joined but this weekend one resort in Colorado is turning on the lights for the first time– Steamboat.
Steamboat Ski Resort reported 24 inches of fresh snow in 24 hours. That’s really good news, and the winter resort business has slightly changed for the better because of social media.
It’s not the wind but snow that’s causing problems around Steamboat Springs. Four feet has fallen in just the past three days. But it’s welcome news to skiers and boarders.
