A Berthoud man is among those trying to salvage what’s left of his belongings after a tornado destroyed his home Thursday night.

A tornado struck the Front Range town of Berthoud on Thursday evening, damaging several homes in the area. Another tornado struck the eastern plains town of Simla, also causing damage.
Police in Northern Colorado said there is no direct link between the murder of a 65-year-old man overnight in Loveland and two apparently random shootings in the region that authorities say are connected, but there are several similarities.
The twister touched down in the late morning hours in a field northeast of Platteville in Weld County and traveled northwest for 39 miles.
