Avalanche Give Sacco 2-Year Extension

The Colorado Avalanche gave coach Joe Sacco a two-year extension even in the wake of the team missing the postseason for a second straight season.

Avs Miss Out On Playoffs For 2nd Straight Season

For a second straight season, there will be no postseason hockey in the Mile High City as Colorado crumbled and crashed down the stretch.

Avs Drop 5th Straight In Shootout Loss

Kevin Bieksa tied the game with 34.1 seconds remaining in regulation and Mason Raymond scored the lone goal in the shootout as the Vancouver Canucks rallied for a 3-2 win over the struggling Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.



Giguere Stops 37 Shots As Avalanche Top Blues, 3-2

Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped 37 shots and Jay McClement scored the tiebreaking goal late in the second period to lift the Colorado Avalanche to a 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday night for their seventh straight home win.



Avs Drop Third Straight On Canadian Road-Trip

Sam Gagner scored a pair of goals and added an assist and the Edmonton Oilers snapped a two-game losing skid with a 4-1 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Friday.

Penguins Rally Past Avalanche In Pittsburgh

James Neal had a goal and two assists as the Pittsburgh Penguins rallied past the Colorado Avalanche 6-3 on Tuesday night.
