Highway 24 Back Open After Mudslides Force Closure Near Cascade

Mudslides forced the Colorado Department of Transportation to shut down Highway 24 four times over the past week.

CDOT To Patrol US 24 To Protect Public From Floods

To protect drivers from flash floods, the Colorado Department of Transportation says maintenance crews will conduct round-the-clock patrols of U.S. 24 in the Waldo Canyon Fire burn area between Manitou Springs and Cascade through Oct. 1.

A mudslide has closed U.S. 24 in the Cascade area northwest of Manitou Springs, and flash flooding in Manitou Springs is stranding several vehicles in high, fast-moving water.
