The Denver Rescue Mission served an early Easter dinner to hundreds of homeless and low-income families on Friday.
The Denver Rescue Mission has fallen short of its goal to collect turkeys for those less fortunate and is trying to collect thousands in a last-minute push leading up to Thanksgiving.
After being worried they would fall well short of the amount of turkeys donated to give to families in need, the Denver Rescue Mission announced Monday they have surpassed their goal of getting 10,000 turkeys.
The Denver Rescue Mission anticipates it’ll need about 10,000 turkeys by Thanksgiving, which is just over a week away. Right now there are less than 1,000 in the freezers.
