Disabled Military Veterans Learn Winter Sports At Veterans Affairs Clinic
Disabled Vietnam veteran and triple amputee Chad Colley, 67, adjusts his prosthesis after skiing on March 29, 2012 in Snowmass Village, Colorado. More than 350 U.S. military veterans are taking part in the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic held between March 25-30 in Snowmass, Colorado. The clinic is co-sponsored by the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Disabled American Veterans. It aims to motivate veterans with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, orthopedic amputations, visual impairments, and neurological problems to heal physically and mentally through winter sports. Colley, who lives in New Smyrna Beach, FL, was wounded in Vietnam in 1968 as a U.S. Army 1LT when he stepped on an IED during a combat assault mission. (Photo by John Moore/Getty Images)
