Lauren DiSpirito is a reporter for CBS4 News at 10 p.m. She covers breaking news and feature stories along Colorado’s Front Range.

Lauren joined CBS Denver in January 2014 as the station’s Northern Newsroom Reporter. While living and working in Northern Colorado, Lauren covered high profile events, including the 2016 trial of Dynel Lane, a Longmont woman found guilty of cutting an unborn baby from another woman’s womb, the unsolved roadside murders of two Larimer County men in 2015, and the progress of recovery efforts during the anniversary of Colorado’s devastating 2013 floods. She has also reported on oil and gas development and agricultural issues impacting Northern Coloradans.

Prior to joining the CBS4 news team, Lauren was a reporter and video journalist for WBBH-TV/WVZN-TV, the NBC/ABC affiliate in Fort Myers, Florida. During her time in Florida, Lauren covered the region’s island communities. She covered the environmental impacts of Florida’s controversial water management practices.

Before moving to Florida, Lauren worked as a reporter and multimedia journalist at 13WMAZ, the CBS affiliate in Macon, Georgia. While in Macon, Lauren covered stories that gained national attention, including the 2009 allegations of sexual assault against Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and the long awaited return of The Allman Brothers Band to their former home at “The Big House.” Lauren also covered education and local government in Central Georgia. She began her broadcast journalism career as an assignment editor for WCAU-TV in Philadelphia.

As a graduate of Villanova University, Lauren is a proud ‘Nova Wildcat basketball fan! During college, she spent a year studying abroad in Italy and Australia, where she was an intern for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Lauren grew up in New Jersey. She loves calling Colorado home and spends much of her free time hiking, camping, and skiing! Lauren also enjoys reading, and spending time with family and friends.
