Louis Adams hit two free throws and Kelley hit a 3-pointer to give Wyoming a 78-76 lead with 1:06 to play and neither team scored again until Kelley made 1-of-2 free throws with four seconds left. Hutchison hit 14-of-20 free throws and led Boise State with 27 points, but made just 6 of 19 from the field. Zach Haney added 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting.

Dalton converted a 3-point play during an 11-0 run to open the second half that pulled the Cowboys within five points, and James and Hunter Maldonado each hit a 3-pointer during an 11-2 spurt that made it 49-all with 13 minutes left in regulation. Kelley hit a free throw to give Wyoming a 57-56 lead, its first, about five minutes later.

Hutchison hit two free throws to give Boise State a 70-68 lead with 31 seconds left but, after James tied it with a layup on the other end, his potential winning layup attempt was in-and-out.
