Locally-Built Rocket Launched Into Space Helps Weather Forecasts
VANDENBURG BASE, Calif. (CBS4) - A state of the art weather satellite is now in orbit thanks to the Delta II rocket built by the Colorado-based United Launch Alliance.
Crews helped with a successful liftoff from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California on Saturday.
The new satellite will help meteorologists predict weather in the United States.
Five small CubeSats were also on board. They will conduct separate science experiments.
