Cigarette Tax Increase Approved In High Country
ASPEN, Colo. (CBS4) - A massive tax on a pack of cigarettes in Aspen got the green light from voters.
The tax will start at $3 per pack and will increase 10 cents every year until it hits $4.
There will also be a 40% hike on all other tobacco products, including e-cigarettes.
The tax goes into effect January 1.
That's the same day Aspen is raising the age to buy tobacco from 18 to 21.
