Massive Temperatures Drop After Record High Temperatures

By Lauren Whitney

DENVER (CBS4) -

Recording breaking highs in Denver today! The old daily record high was 80 degrees from 2007, we hit 84 degrees in Denver today! Sunshine and warm temperatures covered Colorado today, it felt more like summer than late October.

That all changes very quickly late tonight as a cold front will start working through Colorado, bringing us our coldest temperatures of the season so far! We'll hit our high for Thursday just after midnight, after that our temperatures will plummet and we may only be in the mid 30s through the afternoon.

There will be a chance for rain/snow and snow in Denver just after lunch time, we won't expect much accumulation here in Denver. The foothills and high country could pick up about 2-5 inches. Some higher elevations could see a touch more.

Then it quickly clears, and we're left with our coldest temperatures of the season so far! We'll be in the upper teens on Thursday night into Friday. Still cool on Friday in the low 40s, but warmer as we head to the weekend.
