Investigators Track Down Puppy Scam Operator
CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (CBS4) - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says they've tracked down a scammer who cheated a Highlands Ranch woman out of hundreds of dollars.
The woman, who did not want to be identified, thought she was buying a puppy from a reputable website.
After wiring $1,300 to the breeder and not receiving a puppy, she realized she had been scammed. She was able to cancel the wire transfer for $850 but was out $450.
Investigators have not released any details about the suspect.
