Crash Kills Teacher Who Was Pulled Over By State Trooper
SILT, Colo. (CBS4)- The man killed in a crash that happened after he was pulled over has been identified as a teacher in Carbondale.
Shaw Lewis was killed when a vehicle crashed into him and the Colorado State Patrol officer who pulled him over on Interstate 70 near Silt on Wednesday.
Lewis, 39, was a montessori teacher in Carbondale.
The state trooper was injured in the crash but has been released from the hospital.
"Trooper Charles Hiller was on the passenger side of the stopped vehicle when the crash occurred," states a news release from the state patrol.
The other driver will likely face charges.
Grief counselors will be at the school Monday.
