LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) – The city is getting rid of their outdoor warning sirens.
A technology in the palm of your hand will instead replace them.
The new system will warn the public through text messages and email.
Earlier this year, the warning systems malfunctioned or didn’t work at all, so the city decided to get rid of them.
Now, Longmont is joining the rest of Boulder County in having the new high-tech warning system.
