Judge Sentences Teen Responsible For Foothills Hitchhiking Attack
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - A 16-year-old boy who attacked a woman who stopped to help him has been sentenced to six years in a youth detention facility.
Investigators say the 71-year-old victim picked up Jeffrey Collins and two other teens after she saw them hitchhiking in Lefthand Canyon last September.
When they got to her house, Collins hit her over the head with a fire poker, leaving her with serious injuries.
Investigators say Collins wanted to knock her out to steal her car.
