Bear Tranquilized In Busy Neighborhood

LA VERNE, Calif. (CBS4) - Wildlife officials had to tranquilize a bear after it was hit along a highway in California.

It happened Monday morning in La Verne, northeast of Los Angeles near the mountains north of the city. The bear was hurt, but still alive.

California Department of Fish and Wildlife shot the bear with a tranquilizer dart.

The animal fell asleep. Officials had to corral the bear to remove it from the residential area.
