WEBSTER, N.Y. (CBS4) – Homes along Lake Ontario turned into ice palaces after five straight days of strong winds and freezing cold.
“We had violent winds here the last five days,” photographer John Kucko told CNN. “Power was knocked out to 150,000 people. Some are still without power.”
Even the grass and patio furniture froze as hurricane-force winds whipped water onto the shore, turning homes outside of Rochester into igloos.
Temperatures aren’t expected to climb above freezing until Friday.
