Teen Sentenced To 20 Years For Shooting Deputy

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- A young man who shot a deputy has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Jahlil Meshesha, 17, pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree murder after attacking and shooting Jefferson County Deputy Jose Marquez.

The shooting happened in January in an apartment complex in Aurora. Marquez was off duty that day.

He returned fire and shot Meshesha in the leg.

Marquez continues to recover from his injuries.
