Roby Hopes Luck Continues Against The Patriots

Broncos cornerback Bradley Roby joined CBS4 Broncos analyst Mark Schlereth and CBS4 sports anchor Michael Spencer for Xfinity Monday Live this week.

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) - Bradley Roby and the Broncos are preparing to face Tom Brady and the Patriots on Sunday.

Roby has a good history against the Pats, in 2014 his first career interception came off of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, and he added another interception in last season's AFC Championship game to help preserve a Broncos victory and punch their ticket to Super Bowl 50.

"It seems to me I kind of get lucky when I play the Patriots. I kind of catch tips. Both of my picks versus them have been tip plays, so hopefully I catch another tip on Sunday," said Roby.

After their latest loss to Tennessee the Broncos are 8-5, and as of Monday night were 6th in the AFC playoff standings. A win over the Patriots would go a long way to helping their playoff chances and erasing the bad taste from the Tennessee loss.

"Any time you can control your own destiny it's always a good thing," said Roby. "You don't ever want to depend on, 'I hope they lose, I hope they win,' it's too much."

The Broncos have had the Patriots' number recently. Denver has beaten the Pats the last two meetings, including in last year's thrilling AFC Championship showdown.

"We look forward to it," Roby said looking ahead to Sunday's game. "It'll be a great game."

The Broncos and Patriots kick off at 2:25 p.m. from Mile High Stadium. Watch the game on CBS4.
