Business That Had Luxury RVs Stolen Deals With More Crime

By Karen Morfitt

FREDERICK, Colo. (CBS4) - A Colorado man is accused of stealing nearly $900,000 from the RV dealership where he worked.

A Weld County grand jury issued an 11-count criminal indictment against 36-year-old Jeffrey Mullins.

According to the indictment, Mullins worked as a sales manager for Transwest Truck Trailer RV of Frederick. He was responsible for setting RV prices.

An internal audit found evidence that for nearly four years he had been selling to individuals and competing dealers in return for cash kickbacks.

Mullins was fired in June of 2015 and is now facing a number of charges from felony theft to tax evasion.

If convicted, he faces up to 18 years in the Department of Corrections for the felony charges.

The indictment comes a little more than two months after Transwest RV was hit by burglars, losing nearly $2 million merchandise.

General Manager Andrew Lyons spoke to CBS4 shortly after the theft in October.

"They knew when to come here. They came between when we left and when the cleaning crew comes in. It was well orchestrated," Lyons said.

That theft was caught on camera. Surveillance video shows multiple suspects arriving to the lot and then driving away with three brand-new luxury RVs.

Investigators don't believe the cases were at all related, and to date the recent RV theft case remains unsolved.
