Light Snow and Very Cold For the Morning Rush Hour

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - That cold front that passed through the state yesterday and overnight helped shave 24 degrees off our Tuesday high over Monday's high temperature when we reached just 30 degrees, 32 downtown. Snow will continue to be enhanced overnight as a second surge of cold air drops our temperatures into the single digits by Wednesday morning...and then our high will struggle to reach the low to mid teens for a high on Wednesday. Snow ends by midday Wednesday after 2-4" falls. Then skies will clear and that will really send the temperature plummeting as we bottom out at around 7 degrees below zero by Thursday morning. Thursday will see a return to sunshine, but our high will stay cold - only reaching around 20 degrees.

A quick temperature recovery arrives Friday as the high reaches a seasonal high in the low to mid 40s under partly sunny skies. Even better as we start the weekend: partly sunny and a high near 50. Sunday will see snow move back into the high country, but we should stay sunny east and in Denver, but our high will be cooler - in the upper 30s.
