Broncos' Derby: 'We Have To Pile Wins On Top Of Each Other'
Broncos tight end A.J. Derby joined CBS4 Broncos analyst Mark Schlereth and CBS4 sports anchor Michael Spencer for Monday's edition of Xfinity Monday Live at the ViewHouse Centennial.
CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) - A.J. Derby joined the Broncos mid-season after a trade from the New England Patriots.
"I've been lucky to be with two great organizations, both of them coming off Super Bowl years, so I got to learn from a lot of guys that got the job done and got to the top of the game," said Derby.
"It was a lot. It was really quick. It was a whirlwind coming across the country," Derby added reflecting on his mid-season trade.
The Broncos are coming off a 20-10 win over Jacksonville win in Week 13.
"It was pretty tough, especially coming off the loss against Kansas City," Derby said of bouncing back with a cross-country road trip.
The offense struggled in Jacksonville, racking up just 206 total yards and was just 1-13 of 3rd downs.
"It just comes down to executing. It's all 11 guys, we just have to be ready to catch the ball and protect the quarterback," Derby said.
The Broncos have just four games remaining, and are currently 6th in the AFC playoff standings.
"We really have to pile wins on top of each other. We got to win some games and make a playoff push, and we're looking forward to doing that."
The Broncos are 8-4 and will travel to Tennessee this Sunday. The game will be broadcast on CBS4. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m.
