Police Need Help Identifying Suspect Who Stole Police Gear

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A police officer's gun, tactical vest and part of his uniform have been stolen and authorities are worried they could be used in a police impersonation incident.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office released a picture of the suspect and the a suspect vehicle.

The theft happened while an officer from out of state was at a training facility in Adams County on Monday.

"Adams County sheriff's deputies saw the vehicle a short time later and attempted to stop the 2005 Brown F-150. The truck fled and we pursued the truck for a short time. Due to the drivers driving actions, the pursuit was terminated," the sheriff's office said in a statement.

According to police the suspect vehicle was last seen near 43rd Avenue and Brighton Boulevard in Denver.

There's now an all-out search for the weapon and the suspect.

The Ford F-150 was stolen out of Nebraska on December 2nd, 2016. Currently this truck has Colorado plate QTG-450. If seen, please don't approach the truck and call 911.
