Gary Postell, 49, works at Ponderosa High School in Parker. He was arrested earlier this week on suspicion of two felony counts of sexual assault by someone in a position of trust and one misdemeanor count of sexual assault 10-year-age difference.

Authorities are not saying so far if the crimes stem from a consensual situation or an attack of some kind. The school district also says it can't comment on the case because of an ongoing investigation and privacy laws. According to an arrest affidavit obtained by CBS4, it appears the contact was consensual.

Postell was hired by the Douglas County School District in September 2014. He is now on unpaid leave.

Earlier this month Postell was mentioned on the school district newsletter as a rock star. Nominated by district leaders, the writeup said he was "someone who truly cares for our students' safety and security."

The article and all information about Postell has now been deleted from district web pages.

Postell was released on a $5,000 bond on Tuesday. His next court appearance will be in early January.

Officials with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office say this is an open investigation, and that anyone with information that might be helpful to their case should contact them.

Parents were alerted to the situation by a letter that was sent by the school's principal. It said a member of the security team is being investigated for an innapproriate act.
