Sentencing Underway For Driver Who Killed State Patrol Cadet
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - The man found guilty of killing a Colorado State Patrol cadet near Longmont is being sentenced in a Boulder County court hearing Tuesday.
Christopher Gebers was driving high and recklessly as he took off from a traffic stop in May 2015. He hit and killed Cadet Taylor Thyfault and also struck Cadet Clinton Rushing.
A jury found Gebers guilty of the crash in September.
Thyfault was promoted to trooper after his death. Rushing is now a sergeant.
