Shots rang out after midnight at a party inside a large warehouse on Cherokee Street and Arkansas Avenue. Two people were shot and one person died. Police said the shooter opened fire after an altercation broke out among the mass gathering of teens.

"This was a tragic incident, and we're working to determine who is responsible," said John White, a spokesperson for the Denver Police Department.

Bullets also flew a short time later during a house party in the Montello neighborhood on Carson Street. Police said that one male died from his injuries.

A third shooting took place at a bar on High Street and 39th Avenue in Denver's Cole neighborhood.
