Aqib Talib Decides To Join Twitter

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) - Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib has given in and joined Twitter.

"I want to put a warning out there; he does not have filters," Denver defensive coordinator Wade Phillips said with a chuckle. "You can follow him, but he doesn't have a filter."

Talib posed in a new Hermès hat Friday while encouraging people to retweet that photo and follow him.

"You wear a $1,200 hat and you start trending," Talib joked with fellow defensive backs in the locker room.

Von Miller, the Broncos' king of social media, said he was the one who talked Talib into signing up after working on him for about a year.

"He's going to be great on social media," Miller said.

Talib said he'll let Miller take all the credit but his marketing team actually encouraged him to get on Twitter.

That way, Talib said, he can promote his football camps and combines that he'll stage at the multipurpose sports complex he's building in suburban Dallas.

"We plan on breaking ground right after Christmas," Talib said.

DeMarcus Ware said he didn't give Talib any Twitter tips because he's not caught up in social media himself. Ware said several of his teammates recently gave him grief about not following them back and threatened to unfollow him.

"I said, `Listen, I don't even care. I see y'all every day in the locker room, OK?'" Ware recounted.

NOTES: GM John Elway threw several passes to WR Demaryius Thomas as they walked off the field Friday. Elway can still bring it, too. His last throw was a little low but plenty fast, surprising Thomas. ... Asked about the extra attention he's getting from teams determined not to let him sack their QB, Miller cracked, "Maybe `Dancing With The Stars' did make those guys want to chip me a little bit more."
