A Little Warmer Before Next Snow Chance

By Dave Aguilera

DENVER (CBS4) - Happy Thanksgiving! Our holiday cooled down a little bit in the wake of a fairly dry cold front that dropped high temperatures in the Denver metro area into the upper 40s. In addition to the cool down the front really kicked up winds early in the day across the region. Some wind gusts west of Denver on into the mountains reached hurricane force briefly.

A ridge of high pressure is now filling in the gap behind or Thanksgiving front. This will bring in warmer temperatures for Friday and Saturday with mostly clear skies. Sunday will see an increase of clouds over eastern Colorado and a few snow and rain showers over many western parts of the state.

This will bring in a cooling trend for the week ahead with a slight chance of snow in Denver returning on Tuesday with much colder temperatures.
