DIA Expects Record Number Of Travelers This Weekend
DENVER (CBS4)- The Denver International Airport is bustling with holiday travelers preparing to take off before the holiday weekend. DIA is preparing for a record number of travelers over the long weekend.
Passengers made their way through security lines without many delays on Wednesday morning.
About 6:45 a.m. Wednesday there was about a 22 minute wait for passengers to get through security with no significant delays.
That is much less of a wait time compared to the Thanksgiving travel weekend last year when lines snaked through the airport back to baggage claim.

The economy lots were quickly filling up and the Pikes Peak lot was already at capacity by 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The peak travel time for DIA was expected to be at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Airport officials urged passengers to plan at least two hours to get through security.
DIA expected a record 1.1 million passengers to travel through the airport between Nov. 22 through Nov. 28. That would be an increase of 10 percent over the 2015 Thanksgiving weekend.
