Drug Detection Dogs Join Denver Sheriff Department
ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) - Three drug-detecting K-9s are joining the Denver Sheriff Department as part of a new security crackdown to prevent contraband at the Denver Jail.
Two of the dogs are Malinois and one is a German shepherd. They are training to sniff out drugs and cellphones.
The department showed off the dogs at a facility in Arvada on Wednesday.
More shakedowns and strip searches are also taking place as part of the security crackdown.
