Much Colder with Chances for Rain and Snow

DENVER (CBS4) - Wednesday, record warmth was found all around Colorado: 69 degrees was a record high in Grand Junction (old: 66/1967); Pueblo's record was 82 degrees (81/1896!); Denver reached 80 (77/1941) which also tied the warmest temperature ever in November - and set a record for the warmest temperature for so late in the season. Records also fell at Alamosa, Colorado Springs and Boulder.

Now, this storm system we have been discussing for days arrives and could drop the high temperature by nearly 40 degrees in Denver by tomorrow...bringing along rain and snow showers. Winter Storm Warnings or Winter Weather Advisories cover nearly all of the Colorado mountains, with some areas possibly getting nearly a foot of new snow. But the storm is a quick mover, so sunshine returns quickly on Friday - we stay on the chilly side in Denver with a high back in the lower 40s.

Look for a sunny and slowly warming weekend: Saturday's high will be seasonal - in the low 50s, as Sunday warms into the low 60s.
