After Bye, Davis Says Broncos Will Need A 'Playoff Mentality'

By Michael Spencer

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) - Broncos linebacker Todd Davis joined CBS4 sports anchor Michael Spencer and CBS4 Broncos analyst Mark Schlereth for Xfinity Monday Live at the ViewHouse Centennial on Monday.

Davis and the Broncos are 7-3 entering the bye week, and are coming off a 25-23 win over New Orleans.

For Davis, who was cut by the Saints early in his career, the win was extra special.

"It was huge for us to get this week," said Davis. "It was huge for me, you know I started off in New Orleans, so I probably wanted to get that win more than anybody."

The defense held New Orleans to well under its season average in offensive yardage, and did so without key players Derek Wolfe and Aqib Talib.

"Everybody chose to pick up the slack for the leaders that we had down this week," Davis said.

The Broncos players will have several days off, and Davis plans to go back to Los Angeles to spend time with his family.

"I'm going to go out there, soak up some sun and relax for a little bit," he said of his plans.

When the Broncos return from the bye they'll host Kansas City in a primetime game on Nov. 27 and will have three of their remaining six games against AFC West foes.

"The rest of these six games are all playoff games. We have to go in there with a playoff mentality, and we have to be ready to bring it every single week."
