Prediction Or Reverse Psychology? Denver Will Break Record For Latest 'First Snow'

By Chris Spears

DENVER (CBS4) - If you're hoping for snow in Denver it looks like we have at least another week to go before anything remotely close enters the forecast.

And to be honest the storm we're tracking for Nov. 17 appears it will be too far north to bring any snow into the city.

I've lived here long enough to know that a lot can change in a week's time, so saying Denver will break an all-time record in a headline is a pretty bold move.

While deep down I do believe we're going to break this record, there's a part of me hoping that Mother Nature will prove me wrong.

Could a little reverse psychology really work? Given where things stand with the state of drought I think it's certainly worth a try!

Denver's latest 'first snow' of the season fell on November 21, 1934. Snow data in the Denver climate record dates back to 1882.

The first snow of the 2016-2017 snow season will officially be in the record books once Denver International Airport records a snowfall of 0.1 inches or greater.
