Trump's Colorado Campaign Chair: 'Anything But Business As Usual'

DENVER (CBS4)- As President-elect Donald Trump begins to assemble his administration, his Colorado campaign chair says it will be anything but business as usual.

Trump met with his transition team on Thursday to begin assembling his cabinet. Trump's Colorado campaign chair Robert Blaha said like Trump, it will be unconventional.

"You're going to see a lot of barriers put up to have this turn into a feeding of the trough type of thing," said Blaha.

Blaha said he has been approached about playing a role in the Trump administration but said it's not something he ever gave much thought to.

"In a traditional model, everybody is lining up to the bar and saying, 'Here's what I want' but Trump is anything but traditional," said Blaha.

Among names being floated for cabinet posts, Rudy Giuliani or Chris Christie for Attorney General, Newt Gingrich for Secretary of State, Dr. Ben Carson or Bobby Jindal for Health and Human Services Secretary and Sarah Palin for Interior Secretary.

RNC Chair Rience Priebus is reportedly being considered for Chief of Staff.

"I wouldn't be surprised to see people who are brand new to the system, brand new ot the whole Washington Beltway thing," said Blaha.

Blaha says Trump will likely tap industry executives in oil and gas and finance.

"You're going to see a lot of business tools and techniques that we've been using for decades brought into those agencies. That's how we reduce them, make them smaller, make them more efficient," said Blaha.
