Man Accused Of Strangling Ex-Girlfriend Formally Charged
DENVER (CBS4) - A man has been formally charged after a woman's body was found in an industrial area over the weekend.
Araceli Esparza-Miranda was found strangled in a car in the area of 47th Avenue and Kingston Street about 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 29.
According to Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney's office, Esparza-Miranda's ex-boyfriend, Jose Vallejo-Cano, 25, has been charged with first-degree murder after deliberation.
Esparza-Miranda, 23, from Denver, had a restraining order against Vallejo-Cano after a domestic violence incident a few weeks ago.
Vallejo-Cano was arrested after being found hiding near the scene. He remains in custody and his next court date hasn't been set.
