Keystone, Breckenridge Push Back Opening Dates Once Again

KEYSTONE, Colo. (CBS4)- Keystone and Breckenridge Ski Areas have decided to delay opening days once again after Colorado continues to experience warmer than average temperatures in November.

Last week, Keystone announced it would open on Nov. 11 but on Tuesday afternoon, the ski area announced another delay because they did not have a high-quality snow surface.

"We are dedicated to providing our guests with the best early-season conditions possible and will continue to focus our efforts on opening with a great ski and ride experience," added Keystone's Chief Operating Officer Mike Goar. "We will let our guests know as soon as we have a new opening day for both resorts."

"Snowmaking teams at both resorts have been hard at work getting ready for opening," said Breckenridge's chief operating officer John Buhler. "Cold temperatures allowed both resorts to make snow last night, and we will continue to take advantage of temperatures conducive to our snowmaking and get the resorts open as soon as we can."
